Deering High School, an institution steeped in history, will turn 150 during the 2023-2024 school year. To celebrate, Deering announces its 150th Homecoming celebration. This isn't just any ordinary homecoming; it's a historic occasion to bring together generations of “Ramilies” (Deering students and families), alumni and Deering neighbors for celebratory events Oct. 12-13.

Deering High School was established in 1874. Students were housed in numerous buildings over the years but the current building dates back more than a century, to 1922.

Homecoming Week Highlights:

Thursday, Oct. 12, Pep Rally and Varsity Boys Soccer Game vs. Portland HS: The excitement kicks off with a great pep rally Thursday afternoon and our varsity home soccer game (@5pm) vs. the rival Bulldogs. Join us for an electrifying atmosphere as we rally behind our student-athletes and showcase the timeless spirit of Deering High School.

Friday, Oct. 13, Grand Homecoming Celebration: The main event arrives as we gather to cheer on our Varsity Football Team vs. Gorham HS (@6pm). Expect a spectacle of school pride, community spirit, and unforgettable moments. We are hosting a tailgating event prior to the start of the game so pack your gears and reserve your parking spot for a great kick off to the night. Reconnect with old friends, reminisce about your time at Deering, and make new memories that will last a lifetime.

Saturday, Oct. 14, Homecoming Dance (DEERING STUDENTS ONLY): Don't miss the Homecoming dance, hosted by the athletic department, on Saturday night in the gym. It's a chance for Deering students to dance the night away and create memories that will be cherished for years to come. Get your dancing shoes ready for a night of fun, music, and celebration.

Who's Invited? Deering High School extends a warm invitation to all Ramilies, Deering neighbors, and Deering alumni, near and far. Whether you're a recent graduate or a seasoned alum, whether you live down the street or across the globe, we want you to be part of this historic celebration.
