Portland Public Library
BioFollowing graduation from Deering H. S., I went to Colby College and then did graduate work at the University of Iowa, the University of Washington, and Simmons College School of Library Science. After working for 14 years as a librarian at the Portland Public Library, I married and lived in the Netherlands for several years where I developed a love for the European lifestyle, culture, and way of thinking. When I returned to Portland, I worked for 12 years at a law firm in the Old Port. Since returning to the States in 1999, I have traveled widely. Every Thanksgiving for 8 years, I took a theater trip to London where I spent the days exploring neighborhoods and the evenings taking in the theater scene. Loved it! More recently, I explored my family roots in Scotland and visited the fabulous city of Berlin three times. If I could choose my forever city in the world, I would pick Berlin. It checks off all the boxes for me. Now as a retired person living in the midwest, I am anxious to return to my hometown which I love and always have.
